Decided to pull the motor. Getting the head off while in the car is going to be really tight, if I can even do it.

I don't think you can do the oil pan without pulling it or at least unhooking it and raising it a ways

Yeah, agreed. I didn't have to do much else to pull the motor anyways so, fuck it. I've been wanting a hoist for some time. I got a 2 ton hoist and an engine stand.

Well, there is a specific spot (two, actually). But it being BMW, there's a tool for that. I did get a balancer too. So I can be careful and do it the mostly right way :)
