Privacy is a different thing, which is protected by multiple federal laws. Drivers licenses arent regulated by the federal government except to say that each state has to recognize each other states issued license.

Right witch is why they terminated the suspension on my license in NY... They start a new policy that your license can no longer be suspended for an unpaid tickets you will still have to pay for the tickets but you license is no longer suspendable because of it... So it protects the poor like we have discussed previously about being punished for their inability to pay
